How to load data into Supervisor.
There are two types of data that can be loaded into Supervisor. Point data, for example drillholes and block models, referred to as block data.
Supervisor can import from a variety of sources including:
- Text files such as comma delimited (.csv) or fixed width files.
- SQL databases such as Microsoft Access
- Mining software including Datamine, Vulcan, Micromine and Surpac.
Right click on the top folder
Select Add then select the type of data you want.
Once you’ve selected the file to load the Data Loader Window will automatically be displayed.
This is where you define:
- What columns you wish to import
- How you want to group the data.
- You can also define whether you want a live link to the data file or you want it detached.
You can also reselect a file, refresh the mapping and load the data from this window.
The column definition table is automatically populated when the source data is selected. Initially the column properties are a best guess from the information found in the data source.
Although each column of your data can have many properties you usually only have to set the Import Column and Mapping Type fields. It is also possible to change the column definitions after loading if necessary.
You can easily change the mapping type from the drop-down menu.
Use the check boxes under the Import Column to specify what data to load.
Whilst it’s not necessary to load the data coordinates you will need them if you are wanting to view the data in the 3D viewer or generate grade trend plots.
You can also create new data fields either before or after loading the data.
Once you have completed the column definition table select the Load Data button.
